Not much goes off in Anston, but we are guaranteed the Annual Sheffield and District Vintage steam rally once a year. Come into Anston via the A57 and turn right half way up the Baulk at the Post office onto Radford Rd and then follow the road until it narrows to a single track, where you will find a car park. It should be well sign posted.
Thursday and Friday night you should be able to see the Traction engines arriving up or down the Baulk, either under their own steam or on the back of Low loaders.
This is a video I took of an engine arriving last year, hopefully this years weather won’t spoil the event.
You will be able to look at Steam engines, there are a number of steam organs, vintage cars on display, fair ground rides and stalls. There will also be displays throughout the day by the Steam engines. If you have never been before, it is well worth a visit.
I don’t know the exact time of opening, it is usually late morning until about tea time.
All the best
