Victoria St and Lordens Hill allotments decay

I live on Victoria St in Dinnington, which is a nice rd, but we do have two roads either side of us that are private landlord owned, that doesn’t help the situation.   There are six allotments behind Victoria St that have become a dumping ground for rubbish and quite a few fires.  There is also a public footpath through this site that has been blocked off by the scrap yard and the school.

Because the public footpath has been blocked off, people are trespassing along the private residents only rd, leaving large amounts of litter around and certain individuals are also using it to steal from properties.

At the moment I am talking to the Neighbourhood watch about setting up a scheme, but we also need to do something about the deprivation and decay on the old allotment sites that attracts trouble.  This is both the responsibility of the various partnerships in the Rotherham borough: Police, Firebrigade, Enviromental, Street pride, Area assembly, but also the people who live in the area.

You can view a picture of the decay around the area here, which doesn’t do it justice. www.flickr.com/photos/timawells/sets/72157655163462212

All the best
