Fortress Humber estuary photograph

Photography Anston, Dinnington, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and UK

I went to Cleethorpes yesterday with my parents and managed to capture this picture of one of the two fortresses built to defend the Humber estuary.    If I had been staying there a few days, I would have walked out to take even better pictures.

There are two fortresses that were built during the 1st world war to defend us from German gun ships and nets were strung between them to stop submarines.  During the 2nd world war they were used again to defend us from German planes.
