Open field system Photograph Throapham

Photography Anston, Dinnington, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and UK

This field looks like a throw back to when there used to be an open field system in Britain.  Large fields were divided into narrow strips and farmed on during the summer and the animals grazed across them during the winter.  This field exists in the old Parish of Throapham that no longer exists and had a Manor house close by that has since disappeared.
