HSBC (Midland bank) Dinnington Sheffield closure

I was not surprised, but disappointed to hear about the closure of HSBC bank in Dinnington.  I worked for Midland Bank/HSBC myself from 1985 to 2000. HSBC bank Dinnington will close down on the 17th February.

Dinnington is a growing business town and the High st is flourishing. Unless great pressure is put on HSBC they will close this branch down for good.

This closure will be bad for cash-rich Dinnington businesses or people who prefer face to face contact with staff. The closest HSBC branch is Worksop which is six miles away.

If I was a cash rich business I would move my trade across the road to the Nat West. HSBC say that their Dinnington branch trade is dying, whereas the Nat West across the road is always packed with customers. HSBC could drive new customers to their organisation, by providing more services and decision-making management in their local branch.

All the best

Tim
